You may set up a draft to contribute weekly, bi-monthly, monthly, or in any fashion you desire. This method is safe, secure and you won't have to worry about writing a check each week or mailing an offering in when you are away.

Three benefits of automated eGiving:

You are taking a step of faith - When you sign up to eGive you are deciding in advance to faithfully give. God always blesses that kind of faith!

You will simplify your life - You won't have to remember whether you gave this month or need to send in an offering by mail when you are on a trip.

You will be helping the church - Every person who gives through eGive makes our record keeping easier, and helps our cashflow remain consistent month-to-month.

eGiving Examples:

Stanley budgets $500 a month for church giving, and is a contributor to the General Fund and the Missions Fund. He signs up through eGive to automatically give $400 to the General Fund and $100 to the Missions Fund on the 15th of each month. This amount is drawn from his checking account as one transaction, and the church automatically receives the funds and the breakdown of how he would like them designated.

Sally loves the Building Fund, and can't wait for Weymouth's new facility. She signs up with eGive to make a twice-a-month contribution of $200, with $100 to the General Fund and $100 to the Building Fund, taken from her checking account on the 1st and the 14th of every month.

Natalie heads south every winter, but still wants to be a contributor to the Missions Fund at Weymouth. She logs on to the website every month and makes a one-time gift, designated specificially to the Missions Fund.

Max has been automatically giving $150 a month through eGive to the General Fund. Now, he's heard about the new building plans and wants to get involved. From the church website, he clicks the "eGive" button and submits a "Change Giving" request, indicating that he wants to contribute $150 a month to the General Fund and $100 a month to the Building Fund.

Lisa has been contributing to Weymouth via eGive for 2 years. However, her family situation just changed, and her income is no longer dependable. She logs on to the church website, clicks the "eGive" button and selects "Cancel Giving." She can always resume giving automatically later, but for the time being she thinks it is wiser to give one-time gifts.

eGiving Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are electronic contributions risky?

No. An electronic contribution is safer than writing a check, and it can't be lost, stolen or destroyed in the mail. To sign up for eGive you are only giving information that is already printed on your check. Over four billion EFT transactions are processed annually in the United States by many utility companies, banks, and other institutions.

Q: When would this contribution be taken from my account?

On the eGive online secure giving form or on the paper giving form, you can specify whether you want your contribution made one-time, weekly, semi-monthly, monthly or as designated. When the date you have selected falls on a weekend or holiday, the transaction will occur on the next business day.

Q: Can I test this by giving one time?

Yes. You may test online giving by selecting "One-Time Gift" in the Giving Amount and Date sections of the sign-up process. In fact, you can do all your giving via "one-time" gift transactions if you like.

Q: How do I keep my checkbook balance straight?

Your contribution is made on a pre-established day, so you can deduct it from your check record. You'll receive an email reminder from eGive every time your donation is processed.

Q: Why can't I give by credit card?

With electronic transfer, your entire gift goes to the church. When using a credit card, as much as 3% of your gift would go to the credit card company. We also do not want to put someone in the place of going in debt and paying credit interest on gifts given to the church.

Q: How can I keep a record of the amount I have contributed?

Your bank statement will include an itemized list of automatic gifts given from your account. We will continue to provide you with an annual personal giving statement for your tax records. If you ever have questions about what you have given, you can contact the church office.

Q: Can I give to the Building Fund and the Missions Fund?

Absolutely. When you sign up, you designate your money just as you would on an envelope or in a check memo. It will appear as one withdrawal from your checking account, and the church will divide the gift according to your wishes.

Q: What about giving to special funds like teen activities and the Wednesday evening meal?

You can contribute / pay for these online as well, either automatically or on a one-time basis. It is easy to designate your funds on our convenient online giving screen.

Q: What if I change banks or accounts or want to change the amount of my contribution?

You can change your giving choices at any time at our website.

Q: Is there any charge to me from my bank to give online?

No. Electronic funds transfers carry no bank fees.
